My works often balance between surreal, delightful and disgusting. Although my approach is often humoristic, my films deal significantly with themes of melancholy, solitude and hope. My style is a versatile blend of minimal and handcrafted. Different animation techniques inspire my work. My farm studio in Piikkiö, halfway between Turku and Helsinki, allows me to work with everything between large scale stop motion to 2D computer animation.
I have directed six short films, made many commissioned works and worked in several TV and film productions as an animator, editor, director and designer. I’m also the co-owner of the production company and studio Böhle Studios.
